Arts Award

Arts Council Collection: Learning

Arts Award is a national scheme initiated by Arts Council England to inspire young people to take part in and enjoy the arts.

Through Arts Award's five levels, children and young people aged up to 25 can explore any art form including performing arts, visual arts and literature. The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities and prepares them for further education or employment.

If you are an educator and would like to find out more about working with the Collection, please contact our Learning Manager, Natalie Walton: natalie.walton@southbankcentre.co.uk.

National Saturday Clubs

The Arts Council Collection works in partnership with National Saturday Clubs to give young people across the country greater access to art, artists, galleries and arts professionals.

The National Saturday Clubs were developed in 2009 by founders Sir John Sorrell and Lady Francis Sorrell, with a vision to create regular opportunities for young people to be inspired by and develop within the creative industries.

The National Saturday Clubs are open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 16. Developed and delivered by talented and passionate tutors, clubs are run in colleges and universities across the UK, offering workshops, visits and professional presentations.

My Collection

Arts Council Collection: Learning

My Collection invites audiences to join a national conversation about collecting in its many forms. Exhibition visitors, young and old, are encouraged to think about what collecting means to them and share their own collections and memories of collecting via social media using #ACCMyCollection.

My Collection is an intergenerational engagement project that explores the social and cultural histories common to collecting in both the public and the private realm.

We want visitors of all ages to share their own collections with us as we build a picture of collecting across the 70-year history of the Arts Council Collection.
