Curators' Days

Every year the Arts Council Collection organises six events for UK-based curators. Designed as an informal forum for networking, each event has a special focus, either looking at particular areas of professional practice or visiting new buildings and key exhibitions.

Recent events have included visits to the 2017 Venice Biennale, the National Museum Wales, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Number 10 Downing Street and Sunderland Museum, and have looked at subjects ranging from funding contemporary art to government indemnity and social media.

During 2017 and 2018, the Collection will be working with Art Fund to develop and document a series of joint events for curators. The partnership focuses on increasing the digital engagement of Curators’ Day events by making the programme accessible to a wider audience online.
